Aha!

Shall still wait and see before diving in though - deadline today!

And 5.5 did go through that? Gotta wonder how effective that quality assurance process is if even one their own plugs did not work.

Hmm, there are two risky things I'm planning on doing in the next few days, and think I should only do one of them.

I'd appreciate your feedback as to which of the following two things I should do:

1. Install the 5.5.1 hotfix

OR

2. Switch from regular flat pedals to 'clipless' locking pedals on my bicycle.

Which do you think is the most risky? Wink

I have to say I am very impressed with the Steinberg team for the speed in which this was done. This is what customer service is all about. Good job guys!

yeah this is actually good. maybe a good thing for future updates: more small ones and focussing on a few bugs. instead of large updates where new things cause also new bugs...

Mahoobley,
the update is definitely more risky, the worse thing that can happen with your clippless pedals is to pull up at some lights not get your feet out fall over and look like a 'twat'. But you soon get used to that, whereas with cubase updates.....

I'll add my kudos to Steinberg for the speedy addressing of these issues.

I agree with others who have commented that smaller and more focused bug fixes would be most welcome, especially if they can be targeted towards the issues which the majority of users are reporting.

Hats off to the developers, we are usually pointing the flame-throwers their way. Wink

Thanks Steinberg developers. I'll try it. You know the thing is, even if it does not fix things (though I bet it's a great step forward actually), I'm glad you guys are listening and value existing customers enough to put out a hotfix. I have problems all the time with companies but it is how they handle the problem that keeps me coming back.

Thanks again. Very Happy

Nobody above experienced this problems mentioned in the started post.
This keeps me wondering about the quality of this forum.
You'll need to read very carefully between the lines to get some information here.

Just because they did not state it, does not mean they did not experience issues. You go ahead and read carefully and let us worry about what we post! Rolling Eyes

I actually was reading all the posts, wondering if I had the problems, found out last night that I did have 2 problems.

I will try the hotfix asap...

Read the original post title... it only talks about availability, not about functionality. There will no doubt be countless other threads by tomorrow talking about if it worked or not.

Nothing wrong with your secondary suggestions, but questioning the quality of the forum is pointless and a tad rude. If you want official support, then call Steiny!

This was one of the "fixes" in 5.5.0, not one of the 3 hotfixes in 5.5.1. If you read it again, you'll see that blurb is in the 5.5.0 section.
