Hi all.

I set my mediabay to show path and BWF description, but after restarting my computer cubase does not remember these settings.

Does anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks.

Are you aware that the result list of the MediaBay has a column set for every media type?
If you want to change columns for say audio files, make sure you see only audio files in the result list.

You can see the result type icon next to the result count, for example the "triangle-square-circle" icon indicates you have multiple media types in your result list, we call it the "mixed media" configuration. A pure audio file result list, will display the wave-form icon next to the result count.

Cheers,
Joerg

Same here on Cubase 5.5 running on Mac (Snow Leopard 10.6.4)

Columns settings return to their defaults after restarting the computer, even when saved as a Workspace.

Can you please give it another try, without loading a project, just:

- start Cubase
- cancel the Project Assistant
- open MediaBay
- Set the Media Type Filter to "Plug-in Presets" (to have a defined media type)
- move the Plugin Category and the Plugin Name column to 2nd and 3rd position, right to "Name"
- close the MediaBay window
- close Cubase

- start Cubase
- cancel the Project Assistant
- open MediaBay

verify, is it still the same?

If so, please check, if you are loading any particular project, before the columns get lost.

Cheers,
Joerg

Hi again.

Trying to reproduce with above steps everything seems fine. And yes im aware of the settings/mediatypes.

However every morning coming to work over the last two weeks opening the same project I experience the reset mediabay columns.

I am not really sure how to approach this.

- start Cubase
- cancel the Project Assistant
- open MediaBay
- Set the Media Type Filter to "Plug-in Presets" (to have a defined media type)
- move the Plugin Category and the Plugin Name column to 2nd and 3rd position, right to "Name"
- close the MediaBay window
- close Cubase

- POWER OFF/ON COMPUTER

Thanks Tamer.

Is there any workaround to this? If not I would appreciate a fix for this bug as it is a daily annoyance to me.

Thanks.

In my opinion they must fix it.

Its a clearly defined bug, that is confirmed by multiple users. It has simple reproduction steps and have a reproduction rate of 100%
Nothing more to say.

Oh yeah , same here
MediaBay is a nice idea but still not fully developed
Now didnt remember columns setting and if i open track preset results colums are fixed (was able to choose what colums to show before)
Also remember that in C4 was able to edit parameters from there (there's a function in preferences for that) useless from a long time
I will also add another one , Beat designer window cannot be putted in foreground as other plugins do and cannot "browse" presets and listen the results i need to double click to hear the preset et voila Beat designer window will be closed again Crying or Very sad
Hope all that will be fixed soon!!!!

bug #2...

set mediabay "audition" level.

Save cubase session, close cubase. open cubase, re-open cubase session

mediabay "audition" level resets to full level.

VERY FRUSTRATING PLEASE FIX STEINBERG ALSO
