Okay, I've just seen that there's a sale on of all Image-Line plug-ins for $49 each and the Maximus Limiter has caught my eye with it's freely editable curves. Looks like a very handy little tool for very little cash.

Anyone ever used it? I know I could do all the same things with several of the built-in Cubase plugs, but it has them all in one handy place, and with a spectragraph built it too. Very Happy

Going to download demo now, hey I might just even buy it at that price - another No Brainer for me.

Okay, I bought it (knee-jerk purchase) and to be honest you can achieve much the same results with the Cubase 5's native plug ins, but for anyone with Cubase Studio 5 or Essentials 5 it could well be worth looking at as it works as a Compressor, Multiband Compressor (3 bands rather than Cubases' 4), Limiter/Maximiser, Saturator, Stereo Widener, DeEsser, Envelope Shaper, Noise Gater and Analizer.

It does free up a lot of insert slots though and it's nice to have them all in one place and with a bit more visual feedback (I know, use your ears not your eyes, heh). Really easy to do NY Style Compression on drums too (I'm using it mainly on instruments rather than as a Limiter). My only gripe is that they added another $10 in tax before I paid, but I'm in the UK.
