Hi,

in our university computer lab we have 14 copies of wavelab studio 6 installed, and there has *always* been trouble with user rights, since that sitation makes it necessary to use wavelab in an account that does not have admin rights. It's been necessary to set them to the lowest level (very unsecure!), and still, wavelab won't recognize the internal cd/dvd burner. (just for information: this is on mac pros running windows 7 via bootcamp). BTW: Cubase runs without any problems on these systems, and all other programs regognize the burner... all this made us *very* sceptical concerning wavelab.

so since there is a major wavelab upgrade, here's my question: has wavelab finally arrived at a state where it's possible to use it (trouble-free) in a user account hat doesn't have admin rights? and will it recognize the internal cd/dvd burner of a mac pro under bootcamp/win7?

So far, in my testing of WL7 on Windows 7 it runs fine as a normal user, and you can choose whether some settings are global or per-user, so yes, this is a huge improvement. You do know that it's now also dual-platform, so you can run it natively on your Mac -- no more Bootcamp?

Yes, I know about the Mac version. If we buy the update, we would install it on both platforms - I hope the dongle protection works the same way as in Cubase, where we do that, and i hope the install DVD conteins both versions (?).

thanks for your reply!

Yes, the eLicenser works just like with Cubase; I bought the downloadable update, and the download offers both Mac and PC files, so I'd be pretty certain they're both on DVD as well.

@dogel: yes no problem using WaveLab 7 in normal user mode. It is even advised not using administrator mode.
And no problem using MacPro running Win7/bootcamp... this is what I do here.
