Please contact your local distributor/ Steinberg support team. You need to send in the key. If your dongle just stopped working without visual damage you'll get a complete replacement for free. If it is physically broken only the license will be replaced and you need to buy a new dongle - it costs about 20 Euro.

My key have no visual damage, it just stopped the opening of Cubase.
Now, I live in Montréal, Canada and dont find any Steinberg support team. I visit the website Steinberg and I send a message but they dont response. In what country is Steinberg? Because you talk about euros.... that's meens is in Europe?
Thank you again for your help.

steinberg is based in germany.

if cubase does not open it might be that you just need to install the latest elicenser software.

http://www.elicenser.net/en/latest_downloads.html

otherwise we need some more info so that we can help you.

I have been using Cubase quite regularly recently, but last night I started getting an error message upon startup that "at least one of my USB License dongles was not working so Cubase could not start. Please try installing the most updated driver from eLicenser.net." So I did download and install the newest licenser software. At first I got a message saying that it could not update it's database due to permissions, so I reopened the eLC as an administrator. Now my licenses are visible one again in the eLC. But Cubase will still not open! I restarted my computer to see if that would fix the problem. Well it was a nice thought! Then I read on the knowledge base that I could try reinstalling the licenser with the USB Dongle removed. Tried that, but still no Dice. HELP!!!!! I really need Cubase to come back to life and quickly.

Hello, Thanks for your answers.
I tried to install the driver from eLicenser.net. but without success because the MacBook on which I work system is too old (Tiger 10.4.10).
Meanwhile, I discovered what was the problem: My external hard drive that contains my sampling sounds do not work anymore. It prevents the opening of Cubase. Well, I'm happy that problem it's over.
I have a question:
I work with a MacBook Intel - Tiger 10.4.10 system, that works very well but recently I buy a MacBook Pro Snow Leopard 10.6.3 system. I would like to install my Cubase Studio 4. After the install with the original DVD, how I do for updates (which since 2007 must be many), do I need to install each in chronological order?
The current update installed in my Intel MacBook Pro - Tiger 10.4.10 system is the 452 Build 274 update September 2, 2008.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

As you can see on the download page Cubase Studio 4.5.2 for Mac does not require any previous installation. It is a full installer that will only ask for the DVD. -> http://www.steinberg.net/index.php?id=downloads_cs4&L=1

What I cant see on donwload page Cubase Studio 4.5.2 for Mac is that upgrade it's for the system 1.5 (that's is Leopard) but my new laptop works with Snow Leopard system 1.6.3. It's a new one! I dont think the version 4.5.2 does'nt work.

I don't think so, too! Wink It is working, it is just not officially supported on 10.6.[/quote]
