Just installed 5.2 on my brand new MAC pro quad core, 8 gig mem, halfway exporting a file with a lot of VSTI's open it gives a CPU overload
Is it a buffer size problem ? I changed it from 128 in 192 and them in went fine. First time it occurred, any ideas ? is it 5.2? Shocked

Open Network Preferences

Remove bluetooth and firewire network interfaces.

Reboot.

Does removing the firewire network interface not give problems with my MOTU firewire connected devices? Question

why not just mix back to a stereo channel instead of exporting the mix? then export the stereo channel?

it's the way we did it with adats and old analog machines.

I'm not sure why anyone would not want to listen to the mix as it's mixing. disconnecting hardware seems like a pretty crappy work around. also, you could freeze your vsti channels.

just a thought.

If Control Room is engaged, exporting in Realtime mode will permit monitoring as the file is being generated.....complete with an Audition level control. One step with monitoring. Done.

And desert's instincts to up the sample rate is a good practice before mixing anything with Cubase....be it via Export, folded back or out to an external recorder. As a matter of fact, the higher you go, the better your chances are for a glitch-free mix.

Fitz's suggestion is just good practice for optimizing Cubase's overall performance. It should be a sticky.
