Hi everyone,
I'm running the demo version of HSO that's bundled with C5. When attempting to load certain (most) patches from the HSO Light KS_16 folder, I get a message stating that samples are missing (numbers ranging from 208 to 403) & that the file appears to be broken. Searching all the drives on my pc does not reveal any hsb or vfx files or folders. There doesn't appear to be any way to open HSB wrappers to get a glimpse of the samples within, so I can't compare what's on my computer against what's on the installation disc.
Anyway, the result is, a lot of the key switches do nothing, or, in one instance, the patch makes no sound at all. In the interest of saving time, I'll describe how things are set up in this project.
16 midi tracks assigned to channels 1 thru 16.
I/O's set to "all midi inputs" & Halion Sumphonic Orchestra.
All tracks have a blank midi event inserted with cc 11 set to 64.
HSO is instantiated in vst instruments (not an instrument track).
Each slot is assigned to corresponding midi channels.
Each slot is assigned to separate stereo output channels all of which are activated.
All output channels are sent to the monitor buss.
C5 & HSO are installed on a dedicated library partition with sample content installed on an outboard HDD. I have found some HSO xml's on my C drive from an earlier botched install.
If I've missed something simple, (always a possibility for me ) maybe someone can point it out. More likely, this is going to be complicated. I'm hoping someone else has experienced it and found a fix. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

OK I dug a little deeper & found this. It's a reply to a similar post from May of 2009.
Helge Vogt said:
- copy all HSB file directly from the DVDs manually over to the location on your HD where all HSO HSB files are located
- after that start cubase, load HSO
- go to Options and hit "Locate Content"
- in the file dialog which appears browse to the directory on your HD where you copied all HSB files manually and hit enter
This should solve it, else you´ve a defect DVD. The smaller HSB files holds program information only and no samples while other bigger HSB files hold Samples only.
This appears to have been a problem with the installer on disc 2. I copied all the files manually off the content folder on both discs. (There'll be a prompt asking if you want to replace the original files. Click "yes to all".) Make sure you copy all the files! Apparently, the ones marked vel_16 hold most of the samples.
When locating content, if hitting enter doesn't work, click on a file & then hit ctrl-A to select them all & click OK. Again make sure you get all of them. The content from disc 2 is in it's own folder which has to be opened to select all of it's files.
I decided to repost this info because I saw so many similar posts that had no replies. Anyway, it all seems to be working fine now. _________________ Cubase 5.5.2 | Music XPC C2 | Yamaha O1X w/ SM 2.17 | Korg Triton | Muse Receptor w/ Komplete 4 | BFD 2 | Jamstix 2xl M-Audio Trigger Finger
