Hypersonic 2 only with XP ??????

I just tried to install the new Hypersonic 2 update. It ships on dvd and as i try to execute setup the message run under Windows NT 5.x only. My whole setup with Cubase and all VI runs under W2K and i have no problems. And now because of one VI Update I have to change to XP. Is that possible or am i just not understanding something here. Please help.

Hello,

Hypersonic and all our other new products are tested with Windows XP and not Windows 2000. So we cannot guarantee that it will work with Windows 2000.
System Requirements PC

Required:
Pentium / Athlon 1.4 GHz
512 MB RAM
1,7 GB free HD space for content
Idea

Windows XP Home or XP Professional Idea

Windows MME compatible audio hardware
For using as plug-in or Rewire slave-device, a VST2, DXi2 or Rewire compatible host is required
Steinberg Key and USB port required
DVD-ROM drive required for installation
Internet connection required for license authorization
Monitor and graphics card supporting 1024 x 768 resolution
Please note that depending on the host application, some features may not be supported

Recommended:

Thanks for the answer. Anyhow it should be made 100% Clear that W2K Installations can not be updated to Hypersonic 2. When i bought the product it was not mentioned that W2K installation can not be updated. So the only chance i have is change all my setup to XP and thats a disaster because i am very happy with what i have. Anyway, thanks for your quick response.

Yes, you are right. Anyhow, an update to an existing Product what runs under W2K should be marked with something like "Hypersonic 1.x can not be updated running in W2K environment". Nevermind, now i tried to uninstall Hypersonic V1.0 from my W2K System and install it under an XP System. It also does not work because it says something like the product can only be aktivated once. I am pretty much f... and sad. I just want to work but this implies an over all action just because i updated one VI to a new version.

I am working with Steinberg Software since they exist and for me it gets more worse doing updates or upgrades.

I will not change to XP because i am happy to have a stable system.

Hi,
Hypersonic 2 is running stabil as Standalone and VST-Instrument under W2K.
Ok, what i have done is: Installed HPS 2 on a Friends XP-Computer ( whitout sounds )
Copy the Installationfolder on CD and then to my W2K-Computer ( Sounds dierkt from Installation-DVD )
Rename the dll-File ( HPS 2 ) so i have both HPS+HPS 2 .
