When Installing the content for sid xl I'm getting errors at the end of each disc;
Can't remember exactly but something like, have encountered a problem need to close....

It is on an external drive, I didn't see anything about not being able to use that.

The content file is getting larger so the data is going onto the drive.

I thought it was not right so I uninstalled the player and deleted the data and started again, long install!

Also can not find any way to use or enter my serial numbers or activation numbers, other that the dongle key, maybe I'm ahead of myself on that.
I'll just have to go through eleven more errors to find out.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Thanks

Mike

There are some videos, that have helped me get this set up,
I'm not sure why I got the errors installing the content but it is installed and working now.

There is a video for activating the content.

Hi Mike

Similar thing here. But this flaw didn't occur with every discs - only a few. I simply ignored this and I waited to the end of installation process. And it works Smile. Anyway I noticed that patches loads veery long. Also, when I save project with SID XL-HalPlayer used, saving time (when you see sandglass) lasts about 12 seconds (very small project - only test-drive for SID XL, one midi track) Shocked . Saving time in projects with similar RAM use eg. with BFD DLX drums, lasts about 1 second. Is this due to Steinberg's copy-protection or so?

Cheers

Kuba

Hi kubamajer

I installed XL on my faster machine and still got the errors, one or two discs didn't get the error but I too, ignored it and the setup went fine.

I have a copy of the old SID and it took longer to load and save in HAL3, I'm not sure why the SID samples would cause it to take longer to save than other samples with the same amount of load into ram.

Anyway, I have it going and I like the new kits, some nice deep toms, lots of depth in velocity ,like the first sid, on the snares, maybe more depth on some drums.

I haven't quite figured out th hi hat, from V-Drums FD7.

Yes, I like XL too Very Happy

I'll try to use stereo kits for programming, and a full ones for bouncing tracks if needed.

Hi,

I am glad you solved your install problems...

Those errors happen sometimes... but the installer actually installs everything ok.

BTW: you can also manually drag and drop the content folder content (pun intended) to your destination folder.

I am glad you like the new sounds... I am using more and more fo the stereo kits...

I hope I will be able to post more kits soon... I know some of the stereo ones are 'weird', this is because I wanted to stress the diversity of sounds...

Best,

Simone Coen

Yes, I like very much that "weird" kits. Also because that I like sometimes to listen "somebody's point of view" etc. It's inspiring. Thanks for that, Simone..

Regards

Kuba

Hi Simone

Thanks for the responce.

I can't stop playing these samples, just like when I got the first sid.

I love the vistalite kits, the toms are so musical and inspiring.
I've just been soloing away from my v-drums, lots of fun.
I can spend hours on one kit, it really is much like having the kit.

The whole thing was well worth the wait.

If you keep sampling kits like this, I'll buy.

I'm getting the idea with the GM programs, and the hi hat, I just took a break from playing to read the manual, and now I'll see how to adjust the sensitivity for the hats.

I like the HALion player as well, and it's nice to see I can open the HSB's in HALion3.

I hope this brings you all great success at Scarbee's.

Cheers Very Happy

Mike
