Got me thinking about some earlier posts I read and also friends of mine who live eat breathe GUITAR!!!!
Do you treat your axes like gold???? Put them back in the case when done, humidying them......cleaning them???
Dont get me wrong when I owned a 71' Les Paul thats exactly what I did.
My fenders....... are pretty much Road warriors. They only get cleaned when they go out gigging or when I,m changing strings. Funny when gigging they get treat really well, other wise they just sit here alone, crying because some moron knocked them over!!! ( I said I was sorry already!!!!!!!!)
My prized possesion is a Tele signed by Tommy and Phil Emmanuel( did I speel that right?) Thats about the only guitar that Stays in the case. |

well...when I had a few basses in my stock..I did try to keep them nice..
But eben my expensive basses I would frankenstien them, replace pickups/electronics..resand neck, stuff like that...
so I wouldnt do too well with a pristine 63 Jazz Bass....I would never ever take it out and use it..
Give me a beat to heck old jazz bass..I know it will work and sound good |

Well, I do try to take great care of my guitars, and I name most of them women's names. But to me, they're more Goddess than princess. _________________ www.myspace.com/duncanpurcell

In Bali there is a superstition that one should never step over a musical instrument.
I'm not supstitious but i go with it!
Tumpek Krulut
On the 17th week Tumpek Krulut takes place, taking its name, like Kuningan, from the week of its occurrence. On this day offerings are made to the musical instruments, masks, and dance costumes used in many of the religious ceremonies in Ball. The instruments and other paraphernalia are decorated with coconut leaf offerings, and holy water is sprinkled over them. Sometimes the members of the group that uses the instruments and the costumes and masks gather to pray and be blessed also. There is some variation to this practice. In some parts of Ball Tumpek Knilut is ignored, and homage is paid to these objects on the last Tumpek of the Pawukon.
I don't let anyone within a yard of my old martin - apart from family. _________________ G5 1.8Hz , 512 MB DDR SDRAM, 10.3.9, SX 3.1.0.944. Audiophile 2496, Soundcraft M12, Roland S760 sampler, TX81Z, Digitech Quad, Mandolin, Mandola, Gtrs, Bs, Keys, Harp, Northumbrian Smallpipes, and other stuff

I've NEVER purchased really expensive guitars, and usually only own one electric and one acoustic at a time. So, no, if they break, they break and I'm on to the next mid-priced one. I usually keep my one guitar for a good 6-7 years though, until I get rid of it and get a new one. I don't see a point of owning multiple guitars, especially since I don't ever perform.

someday a '64 strat will be shown on antiques road show, but till then...its meant to be used...so use it.
I know a luthier who's customers are all doctors/lawyers....so he sells 5000 dollar basses, but never once do these guys gig....
you know what? keep me out of jail, fix my teeth, and shut the *ping* up! |
