I have posted this before but it really seems to be such a terrible long time for a firmware/software update for the CC121. I mean: The controller was 400 Euros and I think it should have priority over a free iPhone application (which nobody with a CC121 will ever use). I desperately need an improved EQ knob scaling and maybe there could be a simple function to flip the "Q" and the "G" in the EQ section so that they mirror the software! I personally don´t care if its then labelled wrong on the CC121.

If Steinberg can´t do the firmware upgrade, maybe the firmware should be "opened" so that computer nerds can change it themselves.

too right. I mean a dedicated controller that hasnt got the hand to eye orientation right!!! i just cant use the eq section at all coz it annoys me so much. not to mention it slows you down having to think about which knob does which. terrible terrible design flaw!!!

I also think a selectable reaction of the knobs can be useful.

The update we will release very soon will have a better EQ knob resolution. The G and Q knob assignment won't be changed though.

BTW the Cubase IC was a side project mainly done by one developer in his free time. Most of the CC121 hardware and driver development is done by Yamaha developers.
So this does not interfere with anything Wink

I am currently working with the release candidate of the next Cubase 5 version and the latest firmware and extension for the CC121 and I am able to use the AI knob for VST2 plug-ins, so yes, this will soon be available as well.
However, development noted that there might be VST2 plug-ins out there that do not allow the AI knob to access their controls but with most plug-ins this should work fine.

Now that was a 'fun' firmware update process. Very Happy Lots of flashing coloured lights, the instructions in the guide were excellent, and everything went smoothly. Well done Steinberg! ........playz
