Unable to install Groove Agent 3 on New Macbook Pro

I'm unable to install Groove Agent 3 on my New Macbook Pro.
The operating system is Mac OS 10.5.1 on a 2.6Ghz Macbook Pro with 4Gb of Ram.
After trying to install from the installer disc it says 'Install Failed' 'The Installer could not install some files in ‚/. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.'
I then tried to install from the downloaded 3.1 Update with the same results.
It installed OK on my G5 iMac without any problems and I was able to install Cubase Studio 4 and Virtual Guitarist 2 without any problems on the Macbook Pro.
I thought it might be a permissions problem so I repaired permissions but there was no change. Has anyone had the same problem and found a way round it? Or could somebody explain how to extract the files from the installer and how I could do a manual installation.
I have the installer log if anyone is interested.

I managed to work out how to do the manual install. Unfortunately the Groove Agent rewire doesn't appear in the list nor does the Virtual Guitarist 2 rewire appear. Can anyone from Steinberg advise what I need to do to fix it. The rewire bundle files are in the application support folder under steinberg. Halion 3 and Reason appear in the rewire list.

Hello Martin,

please remove the Propellerhead Software folder from Application support. This should do it (the Propellerheads installer locks it). See here:

Thanks Helge that made it work. I had to put back the Propellerhead Software folder afterwards so that my other rewire apps would work. Will there be the same problem on the next Groove Agent 3 and Virtual Guitarist 2 update? I suppose I could always remove the Propellerhead Software folder again and then put it back again, but hopefully Steinberg or Propellerhead will find a more permanent and better solution.

hello .. i am having the same problem .. on a completely clean install of 10.5.5 on a Quad G5.

I have installed and updated GrooveAgent 2 sucessfully but the GA3 installer from the CD does always end with this error.

I have removed the Propellerheads folder and rebuilt permissions.

I have the same problem with a MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz, 4Gb RAM, Mac OSX 10.5.6

I have moved the Propellerhead folder in the Application Support folder to a USB stick, repaired permissions but it still fails.

Can anyone please help?

I have the same problem. I just bought Groove Agent 3, and cannot install it. I also have Propellerhead Reason 4, I even uninstalled Propellerhead, then tried to install Groove Agent 3 like as mentioned above, and it still does not work. I get the same error message that the original poster of this thread had. So I just spent money on a program that I cannot use?
What is going on?

I have a White MacBook, Leopard 10.5.8, 4gigs RAM, Intel 2.1ghz processors

I can not install this product, although I have OS X 10.6.2, but I am getting a error message "
The Syncrosoft License Control cannot be installed on this computer, because the installed operating system version is too old. At least system version Mac OS X 10.3 ('Panther') is required"?

Hello

Has anyone received a answer, as to why Groove Agent 3 is not recognizing the correct OS? I have the most current OS on Mac, yet I am getting a error message that my OS is too Old?

I have the same problem - I am running Cubase 4.5.2 which installs ok. GA3 does not like the OS - I have snow leopard 10.6.2.

Any ideas much appreciated!

c'on Steinberg this is obviously a problem you need to fix. I have the same symptoms as above.

For goodness saken get your act together and give us a facility where we can download full versions of software !!!
Having some oddbod at Keyfax telling us they will send out a new DVD which doesn't arrive is just not good enough.
Might have to go with my Plan B and get Logic. At least there are Apple Stores in every corner of the planet !!
