|
|
Hi,
I have downloaded the Latest update for GA3 and works well in LP9. However, I am rusty with GA3-how do I record Midi into LP9? In setup I have put midi output to 'Live to Host' and 'when host stops' to Pause and saved current settings. Also, in LP9 inspector, Midi channel set to all. On setting track to record in LP9 and having synched GA3 & LP9, hitting record does not recoprd Midi data to track!
Can anyone help?
Cheers
Paul Stokes

| I am fighting with the same problem with LP9 and GA3. Cannot record either audio or midi data to tracks and there seems to be no guidance for this anywhere in Steinberg's site. GA3 also crashes Logic on most times when I select it as an AU instrument, but not always, and I cannot find what's the logic in this. |

I've been having a terrible time with GA crashing Logic. I have the latest update, running on Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and Logic 9.1.1. Attempting to insert GA in a software instrument crashes Logic about 4 out of 5 times. I used to use GA with Sonar, and I never experienced anything like this.
I've been able to record GA to audio, but not midi. Basically, you set one of the Groove Agent track Sends to a bus. Then you create an audio instrument with that same bus as the input. Hit play on the GA window and record in Logic, and it will record whatever you do in GA. But it will only record an audio file, no midi.
Everything I've found says that GA can't send midi to Logic at all, because GA is built as a VST and has reduced functionality as a Logic AU. There are work-arounds, like opening GA as a stand-alone and recording the midi track to desktop, then dragging and dropping into logic, but I haven't tried it. |
