I recently had a crash and had to rebuild my system. I followed a prompt to update to the new elicenser from the older syncrosoft LCC, I was using. It's now put me into a place of not being able to install/intialize Hypersonic. I've tried every variation and order of installing the programs and the dongles ( I use cubase and wavelab as well), going back to the posted last version of LCC etc. to get back to my set up of last week, but hypersonic is nixed. I can't get this staple of my studio set up to work again. I think the only thing that has changed is elicenser.
Has anybody hit this wall and found a solution? I'm getting desperate...
I know that this program is no longer supported, but how/why is it that a program and dongle, which I own, can be rendered useless? _________________ RME Multiface>MSI K9AG>AMD Athlon 64x2>WinXP>Cubase SX2>Wavelab 5>UAD-1 (x4)>Dynaudio |

Yes, although in order to keep working I've moved onto the UVI Workstation with PlugsoundPro. I'd still like to get hypersoniq working again as I have years of projects built around it. _________________ RME Multiface>MSI K9AG>AMD Athlon 64x2>WinXP>Cubase SX2>Wavelab 5>UAD-1 (x4)>Dynaudio |

Are you actually not able to install it? Or does it just not appear as one of your instruments?
I had a similar problem, but re-installed, then downloaded the last update (I only went as far as HS1, not HS2). But to get it working (ie to see it there as an instrumnet), I had to copy the dll into the folder Programfiles/Steinberg/Vstplugins and HS then appeared for me. |

The problem is in the authorization. I can install the program from my original install disc, but when it get to the part where it wants to install the original dongle software- thats where the problem starts. If I remember correctly , I think the dialog box that comes up tells me I must install the (older) dongle software or it will not install correctly. When I did install it however, it no longer would authorize from the dongle, even though it seemed to see it. It saw it as an e-licenser dongle, which I suppose the older program had no use for.
What it appeared to be was that, when I installed the e-licenser for use with my other programs, ( wavelab and cubase) it changed the ID or type of the hypersonic dongle to now only allow referencing via the e-licenser program which Hypersonic 1 apparently will not do. I'm not using that dongle for anything else, yet I can't seem to "reset" it to work with Hypersonic. Strange.
It's been awhile since I've tried to use it. I hope I'm remembering the details correctly.
Birdman are you using e-licenser? How about any other dongle protected programs or just Hypersonic?
By the way, UVI- is pretty good but not as intuitive as Hypersonic, or quick. My workflow is definitely slower. _________________ RME Multiface>MSI K9AG>AMD Athlon 64x2>WinXP>Cubase SX2>Wavelab 5>UAD-1 (x4)>Dynaudio |

| I avoided the part where it tries to install the old licensing software, and let the new eLicenser look after things. I’ve just re-installed HS1, Virtual Guitarist 2, Halion 3 and Wavelab, all using the same approach and they all seem to be working OK. Basically I just installed Cub 5, and then hoped for the best with these old bits of software (I can live without them, but I don’t want to – especially HS, like you I’ve got lots of old projects/demos/ideas created using it), and I think I’m fortunate so far! |

Thanks for the reply. It gives me some encouragement to give it another go- knowing that you got it to work with elicenser. That was my biggest concern. I honestly didn't think it would. I haven't dug back into Hypersonic since my complete computer rebuild which was when I lost the use of it. I'll try your suggestions and upgrade.
Not that i didn't know it already, but having to come up with a replacement for Hypersonic has made me appreciate what a fine piece of software it really is. _________________ RME Multiface>MSI K9AG>AMD Athlon 64x2>WinXP>Cubase SX2>Wavelab 5>UAD-1 (x4)>Dynaudio |
