Im having some really weird problems recording sound with my mic hooked up to the CI2, using Cubase AI5. The monitor shows im getting a good signal, and that the mic definitely is picking up sound. Problem is it seems no sound is recorded unless I practically stuff the mic into my mouth and make loud noise. In other words, it seems no sound is recorded what so ever before the volume of what Im recording gets very loud. Ive tested recording with the CI2 and the same mic in other software, and everything seems fine. Suggestions?
UPDATE:
This problem is turning out to be quite bizzare. It seems sound is getting recorded all the time, because if you right click the recorded track and make it play by it self, sound is produced. Problem is when the recorded track is played together with any other track I can just hear random bits and pieces of the recorded track. This just makes no sense :/ |

PROBLEM SOLVED.
The track preset "Male Rock Lead Vocals" seems to cause all the problems. Choose any other track preset and the mic works perfectly. Gaaaah and Ive spendt hours trying to figure this out |

I've had the exact same problem. I'm currently conversing with support and have notified them of this problem. I find it very strange and I'm not confident it's not a hardware problem. I'll post when I know more.

The reason for the trouble with sound is that the gate is on in VSTDynamics in the "Male Rock Lead Vocals" preset. It's probably an oversight from Steinberg as gate is off in all the other vocal presets. Turn off the gate and everything should be fine. |
