I've heard of some people who are having problems with dynamics in TG3. I did a small test where I went from a velocity of 2 to 127 and found that there was a difference in about 38dB, so, there really shouldn't be any dynamic problems.
I think the problem, in many cases, can be in the fact that people are using multiple velocity curves. Now, you can set a velocity curve in TG3, but you can also hve a curve in your MIDI keyboard. Now, if not at least one of them are linear, you could get some very weird dynamic responses from TG3. So, my tip would be: Put at least one velocity curve to linear, for instance your keyboard, and experiment with the curve in TG3. Should provide you with a better result!
