I own EWQL Pianos (full edition) and I think this thread has been fixed, and/or mods/admins/proponents who have a
vested common interest in seeing TG3 being the premiere/superior piano library in this thread.....
IN all honesty, this couldn't be MORE farther than the truth....
TG3 sounds FAKE....The notes that should ring, do not. A real pianist/person who plays the piano would notice this HUGE omission.
All fanboy-isms aside, I just seek the best in any library or genre.....period.
EWQL just sound real, play real, and are just vastly superior to TG3.
I'm afraid there may be tone-deaf people in this thread, or they do electronica music strictly....
EWQL=professional quality
TG3= a nice try
The End.
oder
Das Ende. |

I find this poll pretty funny.
Hey mods and Steinberg employees:
It's a conflict of interest to vote on a product your employer creates (hint hint) |

If you own the EWQL Pianos only, how is it possible to make a skilled comparison between those two products?
best regards

To me it's very simple...
Although I own EWQL Pianos...before making an informed decision I first
listened both audio samples in (mp3) format.
Just between those two offerings I was able to discern the difference between a
good try versus a fully blown and superior/realistic piano library, but I had high hopes for Steinberg nonetheless...
So I went to my local Guitar Center, which had both running on a Mac Pro.
I listened to both libraries through every decent pair of monitors they had...
Since I grew up playing pianos (real) pianos from Yamahas, to Kimbal and from Steinways to even a Bosi...
Nothing came close to QL Pianos.
I have a very discernible ear.
I have NO doubt those who voted for "The Grand 3" have never used/owned nor listened to QL Pianos
because QL Pianos sounds, plays, feels and just rings true, like a real piano.
The ring and total sound quality from The Grand 3 is contrived and honestly sounds fake.
If the goal was/is realism?
The Grand 3 has failed.
I implore you to listen for yourself and give an honest opinion of the two.
Opinions (in the end) are truly subjective...
BUT....things like:
-sound quality
-fidelity
-natural decay
-resonance
-dynamics
ARE not subjective.
A library either conveys natural and uncompressed realism?
OR, it doesn't. |
