I have been impatiently Smile waiting to upgrade my HS2 to Halion Sonic in the USA. Why doesn't SB give USA customers a date? Why would the USA been delayed by so much compared the Europe? I could have swam to Europe by now to get my copy as long as its taking. I would really like to make my purchase while I still have a little money left in my pocket..... as the US government is slowly choking out of us what is left of our money.

Thanks!

As many others I am very interested in upgrading my Hypersonic 2 to Halion Sonic. Why is Steinberg being so secretive on the US release date? I have heard it should be soon, as in the end of July, but if that is the case you would think they would have a concrete date set for the release. Steinberg throw us a bone here. I have been checking back every day since the overseas release with no information other than it will be available soon in your country. I spoke with someone at Sweetwater a few days back and all he could say is that the product was set up in the system but could not offer any projected arrival date. He also felt that Steinberg would be handling all the upgrades directly. Can anyone confirm this also? If someone from Steinberg could step up and give us an update, it would be greatly appreciated.

U.S. customers have been rather patient here, hoping Steinberg would get things together for us,but this lack of communication needs some answers,so Steinberg reps,I'm asking one of you to please find out some answers for the users here, and kvr,as well as other forums, and other potential customers all asking the same thing when will the upgrades happen for US customers? It's normal in most cases of upgrades, the owners of the previous software get first dibs, better prices,etc.. that's the whole benefit of upgrading right?

Whats not making any sense is the product is available yes it's being sold in the US already.. But not for owners of HS2 yet, quite strange, retail can get before seller? Not good
Steinberg doesn't have their upgrades sorted out for US customers, who will most likely do alot more numbers. Please explain if there's issues.
European customers have already received their upgrades,so why the hold up for the US?

The thing is Yamaha has done it's part, they are out of the picture now, this is a matter of Steinberg.. Steinberg reps you obviously read these forums, you know what happens, this is a new product, please don't make the mistake of holding back information from your users. This makes the whole process bad. And sorta makes it look like Steinberg doesn't even care enough to say something to the people that will put dinner on their tables. This isn't true right? Okay so act like it,it's not a hard thing to say,we're having an issue or two..etc..

Just my 2cts.

I read somewhere on the Internet that Halion Sonic was going to be banned in the USA.

To the others in the thread, it seems that Steinberg has again left us to talk amongst ourselves. It is unreal that they no more concern for the wants of their customers. It would take two minutes of their time for an update. I have been a customer for several years, but as you can see by my number of posts, I'm not a big forum guy. For that reason I only post when something is fairly important to me. Each interaction with Steinberg has been fruitless and one sided. I ask the question and then they don't answer the aforementioned question. What a great system they have set up here. I'm starting to think they want to alienate their customers to the point we just stop asking. Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong, but I thought forums were a place where companies could give and receive feedback from their customers. At least that is how other forums I have visited work. Apparently Steinberg's forum works from a different model.

Still wasting my breath,
Quinn

All you have to do is choose the upgrade from Hypersonic 2 on the ordering page and it will give you the correct upgrade price. I'm assuming I will just enter my Hypersonic 2 license info when I receive Halionsonic. SB did not give me a shipping date, though, as they say a separate e-mail will be coming via the shipping company soon.

From Sweetwater's website: "It's Arriving Soon!
We've confirmed this item has shipped from Steinberg and should arrive in our warehouse within a day or two. Please call and place your order now. We will ship it immediately, the very same day we receive it from Steinberg. "

Two-Fiddy. Not Bad!

I only had a quick hour to mess with it, but to me it sounds very comparable to the Motif XS8. I would love to see a Motif presets expansion someday, but I have to say that Yamaha Steinberg did a very good job with Halion Sonic, and to my ears it is easily the best ROMpler VST available today (I own and have used Colossus, VI.One, MUSE, Sampletank 2, and the Korg Legacy M1)

+1 To Motif Xpansions, that would be killer.. fwiw I've read Sampletank 3 is being developed too , here > http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=337617160146&topic=11298
and there's alot of new features they are adding such as articulations ,resizable gui, faster loading times, workflow features mainly,etc.. I just hope Steinberg n Yamaha team support this one through n through n make Halion Sonic the app to beat in terms of future releases from other companies.. As there's going to be alot of companies aiming for the rompler now I bet... I can't wait to hear it in the flesh Cool
