|
|
Hi guys, I'm not sure if anyone has posted anything about this...but have any of you guys checked out this Ipad app? Its called "AC7 Pro" Control surface by Saitara Software. You can check out some Vids here: www.saitarasoftware.com/site/Home.html This app is UNBELIEVABLE! Sorry if I sound too excited guys, but I couldn't believe how well this works....and let me just say, that I am NOT associated or related in any way, shape or form to this company. I actually never heard of them until I download the app a few days ago.
I own a Mackie Control surface which cost me close to $1000.00...this app was only $9.99 and it does so much more. I can't believe that Mackie, Steinberg, or any other music companies didn't put out an app like this!
This app puts the "Cubase IC" Iphone app to shame....Here are some of the great features:
1- There's very little or NO Latency
2- Transport Bar works Great
3- Flying Faders with Switchable Banks of 8 channels at a time, and switchable tracks follow your tracks in Cubase..as well as MASTER FADER.
4- A "Flip" button at the bottom of your Master fader, turns your faders into PAN sliders.
5- Solo, Mute, Record, Pan, FX, Etc...Per Channel.
6- Scroll/Scrub Wheel and with a touch of a button...it turns into a Zoom Button surrounded by 4 arrows (Like the Mackie control surface).
7- The IPAD changes Screen views as you turn it to Portrait or Landscape view.
8- Read/Write Automation for all channels works great as well.
There is too much to list here, but this gives us all something to think about..we can spend about a Grand on a control surface, or buy a much cheaper IPAD and this $10 app, that does so much more, for half the price (and BTW, I don't work for Apple either, But love their products)
Best of all, I sent the company an Email complimenting them on this app and making a few suggestions for future updates and features that we Cubase/Nuendo Users would love to see... and within 2 days, I recieved an Email thanking me for the purchase of their app and letting me know that near future updates (coming very soon), will have more CUBASE/NUENDO integration. Keep in mind that this is the begining stages of this app... I can only Imagine whats to come!!
BTW, this App has "Dedicated Buttons" to currently works with Logic, Pro Tools, Digital Performer and a MC (Mackie Control) button to work with Cubase and other program that use the Mackie/Hui protocol. I know that if all of us Cubase/Nuendo users Email them and ask for certain features..they will listen to us...as they have apparently, already listened to me. I'm interested to see what all you guys think???? _________________ 8 Core 2.8 Mac Pro, 10Gigs 800Mhz Ram, Mac OS X 10.6.2, 4 (1Tb) Drives, Cubase 5, Motu Traveler.

Is the communication 2-way. For example, you change to a track/channel in Cubase that is not currently in focus (within the 8 faders shown) on the iPad, does the application move it's focus? Musico- when you spoke with them, did they give you any kind of time frame re/ having a dedicated Cubase template? _________________ Regards, Larry

Weasel- I'd like it for videoconferencing/skype, actually. Otherwise, I'd pass. _________________ Regards, Larry

As a working Musician/Band Leader, I originally bought my Ipad to store all my Lyrics and Music for live performances, but then I found so many great apps, that it ended up having many great uses. I was gonna get the 3G model, but I also have an iPhone if I need to access something off the Internet in an emergency. I gotta say...I love my Ipad _________________ 8 Core 2.8 Mac Pro, 10Gigs 800Mhz Ram, Mac OS X 10.6.2, 4 (1Tb) Drives, Cubase 5, Motu Traveler.
