Auditioning sounds in loop browser cubase 4.1

Hi can any one out there help me with this?

I am using a mdd dual processor 1.25ghz g4mac and can't get the loop browser to audtion sounds. I have tried pretty much everything like changing the output so it plays out of my mac rather than my 424 pci card {2408 mk 1}. The strange thing is that it was working fine before i enabled dula processing but now i can't audtion sounds when importing audio sounds or when in loop browser or media bay when i import the sounds they play fine - i just cant audition them. i have tried to audition with dual processing turned off but still can't get it to work.
Any clues would be much appreciated. ps have updated to 4.52 and still no change
