I see you need a full version to get a cheap upgrade to Hypersonic 3?

There are heavy rumours that HS 3 is just around the corner.

I suppose we still have to wait for the Frankfurt music fair!

Where did you saw that rumours?? Hum...
They can't do upgrades and / or updates Hypersonic plug, cause Wizoo, the company who created it was sold to Digidesign...

I have bought the german "Keys magazine special edition" http://www.keys.de/7544.0.html including a full version of Cubase LE 5 (if you suppose an LE version as a full version) and some information about HALion 4 and Hypersonic 3.

They say that Hypersonic will come first, and somewhere else here Mr Eckard Doll of Steinberg himself made me curious:

As an owner of Hypersonic 2 I am really expecting a special upgrade promotion.

They Announced A new HS at Musikmesse
but the name it uses now is not Hypersonic 3
They now call it HALionSonic
Just read this (witch I Quoted from the stinberg website)

Quote:
HALion Sonic – Premier VST Workstation

HALion Sonic is Steinberg’s premier VST workstation that breaks new ground in terms of performance, versatility and ease of use. Over a thousand instrument sounds created by top sound experts at Yamaha and Steinberg offer a staggering array of first class synths, hybrid and acoustic instruments, covering almost any conceivable style. HALion Sonic is the long-anticipated successor to the highly acclaimed Hypersonic 2 workstation, and allows you to work more productively than ever before. Exclusive and comprehensive content, an intuitive interface for seamless handling and the sheer endless possibilities of creating entirely new landscapes deliver truly unlimited sonic dimensions.

You might want to take a look here:

Also notice that If you will get HALionSonic the license will probably allow you to run HyperSonic 2

I have a DEMO CD of Hypersonic that came with one of my older versions or updates of Cubase - SL3 I believe (I'm now using Cubase 5), but was wondering if I install it, can i still get Steinberg to unlock it even though it's been out of production for quite some time?

I'm with most of the rest of you that are dying to get my hands on HALionSonic in the fall but was wondering if I could be using this one in the meantime. A friend of mine a few years back had Hypersonic and Hypersonic 2 and I was very impressed with the sounds, the layering capabilities and its overall ROMpler feel. A little dissapointed that Wizoo won't have their name on it, but what the hell...

I did try installing it. The Hypersonic CD installs Hypersonic (It's the original Hypersonic and not Hypersonic 2 BTW) with no problem. Then it loads up the License Control Center and hangs there never doing anything more. If I cancel out, it informs me that the installation is not complete and if I exit it will abort the install. Well I have to abort, I go to the LCC and no Hypersonic authorization of course. Hypersonic installed just fine, but when I try to open it up and use it it crashes Cubase.
