I've posted previously about BFD2 problems with Cubase crashing and Spectrasonics Atmosphere not working at all.

Well, I did a very careful setup of JBridge and moved my BFD2 plugins over, checked and it worked perfectly without crashing.
Then I did an install of Atmosphere (god knows how many times I tried previously), and it works perfectly as well. I really did not want to spend the extra on Omnisphere just yet. (Maybe if "starving artist" doesn't apply to me sometime in the future I will...) But the pads were what I wanted for the most part. Nothing really compares to them.

It appears to be a little easier on the processing too, but it could be my imagination. I might end up moving the others over as well, and not use VST Bridge at all. I'll see how they play together first.

For the first time in a month after starting the setup, my DAW is finally starting to feel complete!

Thanks for the help and recommendations!

You should get a pretty decent upgrade price from Atmosphere to Omnisphere. I am almost certain you won't pay full price. Check their site.

Trust me! Save up the extra cash, and buy it! Less headaches, more stable and it will be one of your go-to VI's for years to come!

I wish I could. I don't know if I could get a legit upgrade though. When I bought Atmosphere, I was a little naive and purchased it through eBay, but the proper license transfer was never done. So I ended up with an expensive pretty looking box. Through uh... other means I got it working though, plus, I could never get a hold of the seller after the purchase. So I couldn't get the transfer done... So I don't know if I could get an upgrade, and a new version isn't worth it to me at this point.

Even so, I've tried the problem child plugins / VSTi's at once. Atmosphere and BFD2, along with the good ones, Speakerphone and strum electric. All will work simultaneously with no major processor jump. And now that Atmosphere is locked in and working, it is very stable.

So I can wait.

But regarding an upgrade. I guess I would have to have a Spectrasonics profile that has the assigned challenge / response codes to get an upgrade? If that is the case, there is no way for me to get an upgrade, even though I have the original software.

Have you tried emailing spectrasonics? Did it come with a serial at all?

I have the owners manual around here somewhere. The guy gave me everything that came with it. Maybe the serial is on that. He also gave me the original challenge / response... just never the access to go into and either change his profile to my info, or do a correct license transfer. I'm gathering he didn't know much about it either.

Anyway, I might try emailing them. I doubt they'll make an exception even though I paid for it legitimately. I'll try to get all the info I can. I even have the receipt around here somewhere from the purchase. Put it this way. I had to use a response generator to authorize it, even though I paid good money for it.
