This is info for new purchsers from Australia: if you use the Yamaha Australia Steinberg support form all they do is forward it to Steinberg.
Not a perfect idea set, it would still be better to contact the company direct in my opinion.
Perhaps for futrue download releases Steinberg will address this situation.
However, the response, while slow was very thorough and as such am editing my response to my previous post.

Hi,

As maxhowarth inferred it depends on the issue you have.

If it is a sales only or pricing inquiry then yes it would likely be more appropriate for Yamaha (a partner) to respond, however if it is of a technical nature, then maybe it is best for Steinberg to deal with it.

Of course, many countries don't have the benefit of a form mail, and must use email instead, regardless of whether it is Yamaha/Steinberg or even a registered dealer.

There are many levels of service and it will take some time to review the entire process, including the forum as a de-facto support channel.
