Hi, I have Cubase le4, which came with a Zoom field recorder. We installed the software and had it running once-- back when I first got the recorder, several months ago. But I have had too many other projects to get back to it until now. It was never permanently activated, so whenever I try to get on now, I get a message that says the license was deactivated because it needs to be validated.

So I tried going to the eLicenser control center and clicking the button to validate the license. When I do this, I get a message that says:
"A connection to the license server could not be established, either due to incorrect network settings, or because the license server is currently not available. Please verify your computer's network settings and try again later, or contact your software vendor's support department in case the problem persists."

The internet is working fine on my computer. I'm not sure what settings the message is talking about. And the vendor (Zoom) says on their website that they don't provide support for Cubase.

Can someone explain what I need to do to get my software validated?

Hi ,
11 days and no replies to your first post. Sad
Are you still having the problem ?
Smile
Maybe the eLicenser server was temporarily down .

Hi Dave, So there really is someone reading and replying to posts? That's awesome that you ventured a reply! I had given up on the forum, but did contact customer support and someone there told me to try a couple of different things. First I was told to download and install the latest version of the eLicenser Control Center, and was given a new activation code to use. We tried that with no change. So the next instruction was to connect the computer directly to the cable/dsl modem bypassing the router and temporarily disable any kind of Windows firewall or antivirus software and then retry the license download. We did this with much trepidation on my husband's part-- he didn't want to shut everything down. I don't know enough about computers to know how scary this might be. But it did solve the problem. Now I can start learning how to use Cubase.
