Hello All,
I have been searching FAQ and the manual for instructions on how to prepare and burn an audio montage containing several pieces so that the individual pieces can be selected on playback, by their track number. I have found nothing. Can anyone tell me if this can be done using WL Essential 6 on WinXP pro. I have not experienced (so far!) any problems writing CDs.
Most grateful for any help.

You'll want to add a "Track Splice" marker (displayed with a red diamond icon) anywhere you want a new track to start. (Also, don't forget that you need to explicitly add a "Track Start" marker at the beginning of your CD and a "Track End" marker at the end.)
Another tip...it seems that this forum has gone fallow since WL7 was released. I posted a relatively simple question here weeks ago that has yet to pick up a response. However, posting the same question in the WL7 forum received a very helpful response within a day. You might try posting further questions there.
(Note that this suggestion probably doesn't have the endorsement of management.) |

Hello Dantarbill,
What a great surprise ! I had almost forgotten about this question since I had completed the CD in hand. (without being able to separate the individual tracks)
I suspected that some kind of marker would be needed but couldn’t find anywhere that laid down the procedure. I supose I should have been a bit more adventurous. I shall have a try this evening and see if I can re-make the last CD with the appropriate markers in place. It will make such a difference to the end product. Many thanks for your help.
As you say all the action seems to be taking place on the WL7 forum. I’ve been having a read there and not everyone is happy. Indeed, for workflow reasons, many are saying they are still working with WL6. The main grumble seems to be the lack of a manual either paper or PDF. I know I was looking to upgrade again, just to keep up, but I think I’ll be holding off for a while yet.
Thanks again for your help.

Hello Dantarbill,
I must be over the hill ! That was so easy and obvious. I really should have tried harder from the start. Part of the problem is that having spent many hours creating something one is loath to spoil it by experimenting.
Whatever - it is done and I have learned something which will be used on every CD hereafter. I am most grateful to you for your help.
Thank you,
Regards Bomac. _________________ Win XP Pro Wavelab Essential 6 |
