|
|
OK, excitedly installed my new Wavelab 7 upgrade. After instalation I now get an error on my Elicence
''Unknown exception cought, process exicution failed.''
I can now not run Cubase, Wavelab or my Aurturia Software as they were all on the dongle.
Tried uninstall/reinstall. Red light still on the dongle. I hate copy protection...more days lost...
Anyone know of a solution- last time I had a problem it took almost a week to get a responce from Steiny! _________________ Cubase 5.5, Wavelab 7, Windows 7 32bit, Powercore, Alesis MasterControl. |

So, thats almost 2 days lost so far....nothing from Steinberg Most frustraiting as all I did was install wavelab 7 update.
I have tried my eLC USB in my laptop, no problem, all licences show (Wavelab 7, Cubase 5 etc)....before you ask, my laptop not good enough to run the project I am working on....using a lot of PowerCore in my main DAW.
I have tried everything on knowledgebase (install overwrite, delete files from sys32 etc.)- doesn't really help that most documents refer to Vista (Windows 7 now more installs than Vista....hardly any help doc's on Win 7...)
My cubase instalation did run once today, so the 'unknown exception' is not always cought- this makes me think it is an intermittent bug in the new eLC software (triggered by something I have a dedicated DAW and haven't had an issue with anything before)? _________________ Cubase 5.5, Wavelab 7, Windows 7 32bit, Powercore, Alesis MasterControl. |

Did a system roll back ....still knackered.
Punished by copy protection once again....
Everyone who wants to use cracked software does, it's easy to get....those of us who buy software are frequently punished for it with bad or restrictive copy proptection and slow support when things go wrong. _________________ Cubase 5.5, Wavelab 7, Windows 7 32bit, Powercore, Alesis MasterControl. |

Sorry to hear of your trouble.
I'm not quite sure if your second post implies that you're using Windows 7 , but if you are try opening the eLCC with Administrator Permission and the update the eLCC Database .
( Find the eLCC in Windows Start menu , then instead of left-clicking to open , Right-click instead then select "Run As Administrator "
When it opens select "Update eLicencer Licence Database " from the drop-down Support menu . )
-Might help ?...... _________________ Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player._____________________________

Yes sorry, Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on a PC used only as a DAW, absolutely no problems before this. Out of the blue no DAW!
Thanks for trying to help, very frustraiting way to spend the day! Forum only place to vent! (wife doesn't care!!)
Tried installing as admin with overwrite switch and running as admin, nothing seems to work- everything greyed out in menus;
I tried installing the old eLC (August) as the new one is only 'days' old and was a new instalation when this all happened- whatever it has done to my system the old one and roll back don't work either.
Only thing I have not tried is editing the registory, was hoping for feedback from Steiny first... _________________ Cubase 5.5, Wavelab 7, Windows 7 32bit, Powercore, Alesis MasterControl. |

I got no support from steinberg. Had to re-install windows 7., everything works now.
Support seems realy bad, no ticket system, no real knowledgebase stuff for windows 7, no 'remember me' in log on to my steinberg...hope I never need to use support again! _________________ Cubase 5.5, Wavelab 7, Windows 7 32bit, Powercore, Alesis MasterControl. |
