Hi,

how do you play/control Halion Sonic live on Stage? What Host Software are you using and how do you handle the Quick Control?

I would like to go live on stage with my Halion Sonic, but i have problems to handle the Quick Controls on Midi Channel 2-16.

How do you handle the quick controls?

A quick an dirty solution is to use a new Halion Sonic instance for each sound. In practice it would look like this. I have for example 8 halion sonic vsti plugin's running and only use midi channel 1 of each. With my host software i switch to the different tracks/vsti's and could link/map my knobs to the quick controls of channel 1.

What you think?

Thank's, Frank

You should be able to set up 16 differnt sounds on the 16 MIDI channels with ONE instance running , and then choose what MIDI channel you want to TRANSMIT from your controller on (I'll assume that's what your using) to use the sound assigned to that channel. Stand alone should work for this without a DAW. Depends on how fast you need to change sounds-you might want to look into a MIDI foot controller, or split your keyboard. More details of your setup would help. Smile

I could solve my problem Cool

As i use Sonar, i have used ACT for easy controler assigments. But this feature from Cakewalk is not the best way for Halion Sonic. It's multi timbrale and Sonar's ACT can't handle it. So i disabled ACT and use the straight CC/Knobs input. Halion Sonic it selfe can learn what CC with Midi Channel should control a Quick Control. Thats it. Sonar don't bind CC information with a midi channel. This is sad and that was my problem.

Thanks
