Solved-Confirm bug in 5.5.2-

New project
Load Kontakt 4 in VST instruments
Load Violin ensemble in K4
Add 1 midi track
Play instrument, and sound is heard
Rec Violin on Midi track 1
Play - Sound is heard
Load Double bass solo in K4
Add 1 midi track
Play instrument - No sound is heard
Playback the violin you recorded before - no sound
Sound is totally gone ?!
Now try to unload K4 in vst intruments....Cubase hangs, and stops responding.
Kill cubase in taskmanager.

Sad

What a bummer. Untill today, i never experienced this. This appeared after installing 5.5.2.

How do i roll back to 5.5.1 ? I got things to deliver and have NO time for troubleshooting a hotfix !

Edit: I updated K4 to latest version, and it worked just as earlier today, just as always Smile

I guess the C5.5.2 update was bad to my K4.00 - Now i run K4.13.4125 and everything is peachy. For now.. Very Happy

I did some more testing.

For me it makes no different if i add the miditracks before loading K4, or which instruments i choose to load in K4.
As soon as i load the second instrument in K4, cubase hangs and i have only one choice left - kill it in taskmanager.

So, is it K4 that is buggy ?
Dont think so, because as stated in my first post, i have never experienced this before with K4, K3, K2, in Sx3, C4 or C5.
It all started today, after installing 5.5.2.

I tried to reproduce the problem you described on my Cubase 5.5.2 installation but I have absolutely no problems with multiple instruments in Kontakt 4 here. Both, the violin ensemble and the double bass solo are played back as they should. And removing the Kontakt 4 instance does not result in a freeze.

Your post scared me, but I did the change, and everything works fine here with kontakt (and VSL)

update 5.5. made AkoustiK and Elektrik Pianos (by Native Iinstruments) not show up in VST instruments! and a few other VSTi's also. it's been a wreck in many ways as well. anyone else using NI synths and VSTi's have similar problems? i'm thinking of just going all the way back to Cubase_5.1.1. at least everything more or less worked then!!!

caseyforever- No problems here with Akoustik or Eletrik NI programs. Stand alone or VST. Battery 3 as well as B4 also good. (all 32 bit on 32bit CS5)(?) I recently added StevenSlate drums, which uses Kontakt player with no problems, but I have no experience with K4. I know it probably doesn't help, but at least you know it's confirmed working on other systems now. Smile
