connection failed message when trying to edit halion bank

Hello

i have been getting a cryptic message stating that my connection has failed when i attempt to edit a halion 3 bank/instance. the message has been intermittent over the last couple of days. i realized my version of halion on my laptop was out of date (ppc version) which i promptly updated (to the lastest 3.5.0...), including a round of system maintenance, which has not solved the problem. am i mistaken in thinking the ppc plug on an intel machine ( ibelieve fitz has informed the user base that the vst bridge can interfere with the network) could be the problem? any sugestions.

i am doing some arranging on my laptop using the apple i/o as an interface.

any help would be appreciated.
