I'm about to chuck my old computer (seen its day), and have basic question about priorities:
I have intermediate knowledge of computers/audio recording/sound... etc, but certainly no expert.
Before I put tons of money into this purchase, I just need some basic advice as to what to look
for... MY OVERALL OBJECTIVE IS TO GET THE BEST SOUND POSSIBLE USING SOME FAIRLY
PROCESSOR-INTENSE software - namely: EastWest Symphonic Choirs, plus Symphonic strings
and some orchestral sounds, piano etc...
My question is.. what priority? Should I go for processor speed, memory capacity, disk capacity?
What? If someone could give me a short PRIORITY list of, lets say, the 3 top priority items,
and what specifics to look for, I GREATLY appreciate it. My $$ is about $3000 THANKS ! |

For what you mention, memory capacity, disk capacity, and processor speed are all important. Those are the top three. If I had to put them in order, I'd say Memory, Disk, then Processor.
If your budget is $3000, do a google search for: rok box 64. _________________ Fred
