I am using Cubase le 4 with a PC. This version of LE4 dates to 2007 and I am running vista. This version of LE4 was provided with a Presonus Firebox system. I have downloaded the latest vista update from Steinberg.

When I record a single track using a Beheringer B1 mic the track seems to be ok. But if I do any additional recording or delete the track to redo the song the play back after recording is distorted. I hear an echo of the recorded track mixed with static.

Has anyone experienced this problem? If so would appreciate knowing the fix if possible.

The echo may be caused by the loopback of the signal being played back?
