Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-580M Dual Core Processor (2.66GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.33GHz
vs.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Quad Core processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz

ok I have been searching far and wide around the web on info on these two and I just have to know because I am about to purchase a computer. WHICH processor will enable me to have more tracks in cubase, and load in more 3rd party vsts/vsti's. I know the i7 is a quad but it is a low quad with turbo boost up to 2.8...compared to the newer i5 580 dual which has turbo boost up to 3.3....I use cubase mostly for high level mixing and I run alot of plug ins, will the i5 give me more room to run plug-ins without glitches due to its high speed, or is it still low in comparison to the i7 720m quad?

pretty sure i answered you in another forum...

you want the 580. the quad core is too slow GHz wise
for some reason quad mobiles do not perform like quad desktops..
of course quad desktops are faster ghz..
