The topic makes it sound like a simple fix, but it's not what you're thinking. I'm running Cubase LE 4 (gotta get me cubase 5 eventually), and have successfully authorized ezdrummer 1.2 to run. I'm also running windows 7 64 bit and I know 1.2 isn't compatible with it. But I thought to just test it out and get it authorized. Once I got the program to run, not all the drum's sounds came through. It would show that I hit it, but no sound. Only the snare and bass drum were the only ones that sounded off. I decided to fiddle with the sounds of the drums by changing them with the down arrow. Now the snare and bass both don't sound off as well. I'd go back to the default sound and no sound once again.
So I thought "ok, I guess I really do need to get the latest version for 64 bit and that'll solve it." Not really. After installing 64 bit version of 1.2.1, I double check to make sure the DLL file is still in my cubase vst folder. It is. I run cubase. I go to add an instrument track...........no ezdrummer. I go to plug in information, and make sure that my vst folder is one of the pathways to find it. I re-add that folder to one of the places to find it and then press update. Still no ezdrummer.
Now my next step of brilliance. I'll just uninstall 1.2.1 and leave it as 1.2 and see if it'll ID the DLL file. NOPE. NADA. So now I'm stuck. This is really @#!*% me off. Cubase isn't giving me any messages that the ezdrummer pathway can't be found. It just doesn't seem able to notice that the DLL file is sittin right there in it's vst folder.
I've contacted toon track about this, but I need answers ASAP. Need to have this up and running to get my current project done by wednesday. |

I didn't think there was a 64-vit version Cubase 4LE. In order to use a 64-bit dll you need a 64-bit host. You can get around this with JBridge but that's it.

ok, I put the 32 bit version on there. Now I got some interesting things going on. When I load up ez drummer, the drums don't sound off. I basically have to loop some sort of pattern over and over again for 3 minutes to let the program "warm up." Has anyone else experienced this? I've also been experiencing lag and lots of static at times when I play the rest of the mix along with the dragged and dropped patterns in the ez drummer track. It almost sounds like there's scratching going on. I suppose it's a cpu issue, but I'm running cubase off my labtop's cpu and then the actual song itself off of an external hard drive in order to not have one cpu run everything.
(I'm using a maxtor one touch via usb 2.0 [firewire wasn't cutting it]) |

When you load EZD does the memory counter count fast or slow? It sounds like it taking a very long time to load in the background even though it looks like it's open. If all else has failed you may have to completely uninstall and re-install EZD. Also Search your hard drive for stray ezdrummer.dll files and remove them once you've done the uninstall. Re-install the 32 bit version then apply the update. _________________ Win 7x64 Dual boot XP3 | i7 930 2.8 | ASUS P6T SE | 6Gig Corsair 1600 DDR3x3 | 40G 7200 (Images) | Hitachi SATA 400G 7200 | Seagate SATA 500G 7200 | Zoom R16 | Tascam M164-UF | Cubase 5.1/5.5 32/64 | LE4 4.1.2 | MidiSport 2x2 | KorePlayer 2 | Massive | Kontact 4| EZD | Komplete 7 | Cakewalk A800 PRO | Novation Nocturn
