Hi masterplan

You send me a PM i english, I'll quote it here and answer in english.

Quote:

I have this Cubasis 4.0 version, and I'm using real instruments to record, not the ones included in MIDI.
So basically I'm plugging the guitar, for example, to a mixer and the mixer is plugged into the creative drive, and this way I can hear what I'm playing with my guitar in the computer.
Then I can select, in the arrange window, a track to recorded it, of course I'm using AUDIO tracks and not MIDI tracks, at this point everything is OK.
Imagine I have recorded the guitar in audio track 1+2, (in stereo mode)
My problem starts when I'm trying to record another intrument, for example a bass guitar, in audio track 3+4, because I need to hear the sound of the guitar I've recorded previously, so the bass can follow the same lines, but it just have to be the sound of bass guitar exclusively in that audio track.
I need to hear guitar to record the bass, so I don't have to mute the channel 1+2,
What happens is that the sound of the guitar gets into the same audio track 3+4, and this way I can't have each instrument sepparately. imagine if I try to put drums in it, it would get all in just one audio track, and the sound would get really saturated
So the question is how can I hear the instrument I've already recorded in one Channel, and just record in another channel the new instrument without getting both in the same channel?
in a few words I want to achieve this:
1. Channel 1+2 guitar
2. Channel 3+4 bass

but I'm geting this:

1. Channel 1+2 guitar
2. Channel 3+4 bass and guitar again

if I put drums I would have this:

1. Channel 1+2 guitar
2. Channel 3+4 bass and guitar again
3. Channel 5+6 drums, bass again, and guitar again

You said you got a soundblaster. I had one, too, some years ago. There is a soundblaster recording option, somewhere in the SB setup menues. There you can set where to take the signal for recording. One option is "What you can hear". I bet this option is active on your system, then you'll record everything you can hear, which is the output of the 1st track you already recorded plus the input of the channel you want to record now. Set this option to the Input you're actualy using to get the audio singnal into your card.
e.g. Microphone, Line-in 1, Line-In 2.

Greetings
Martin
