Sorry the link for the extreme was post by midislut. I knew I saw it somewhere in this discussion topic.
http://www.obscure.org/~riveted/patchscripts.html#korg |
Thanks a whole lot. I found it at:
http://www.moline.ru/files/tritonextremepatchnamescript.php
I went to the obscure web site and found a whole bunch of stuff that helped - so your post was not in vain. Also, I was able to find Scriptmaker at:
http://dhoop.de/
I forget who posted that link but that was helpful as well!! So again, THANKS!!!

The Russion page does look way weird, but the script extracted just fine. It was called "tritonextremefullpatchnamescript.txt". From what I understand, you have to install the patch script file in the Application folder under "Documents and Settings"on your C drive, and not under Program Files. |
I did not know this and after ripping out every strand of hair on my entire body I made that patchname script help post
| rickatron wrote: | PATH: C:\Documents and Setting\ Owner [or your username as long as you have adminstrative rights to your computer]\ Application data\ Steinberg\ Cubase SX3 \ Scripts \ Patchnames\ tritonextremefullpatchnamescript.txt. |
That worked!!
| rickatron wrote: | AFter that, I went to Device menu \ "MIDI Device Manager" to Install new device.
I tried it and it works! The device came up with the name "Extreme," which is what it says in the TXT patchname scipt. I can now see all of the sound banks listed by category. . |
Same here!!!
I just hope I didn't come across as too much of a whining bastard We really needed this stuff and now we are good to go. So, one more time, Thanks everyone for the help!!
| rickatron wrote: | | I just got my MOSS board in the mail today!! I am going to install it after this. |
That is something both Brigid and I still have to invest in. We have had the TS since it first came out and it has been outstanding live (so has the TE). We just didn't find a use for MOSS right away but, now we want it and we will probably have to get one for both the TS and TE. _________________ PC Sony VAIO/Centrino Duo 1.66 Ghz/1GB DDR2 (soon to be 2GB)/XP Pro SP2/Traction2/Cubase SX3/Korg Triton Studio 88/Korg Triton Extreme 61/Korg Legacy/Yamaha DX7s/Mackie ONYX 400F/Mackie CFX20/BassPODxt pro/Two black cats Seara and Raven. |

Hurry to Seewise. Steinberg should gave Seewise free Cubase Updates for life. Seewise provided more support for external midi hardware than Steinberg did in the last 4 years. I came accross the original patch definition of SX1 and they are the same than SX3.
I was refining a TX81Z device map and trying to do an SPD-20 map and finally realise the time I spent is not worth it at all to develop device maps. Well I could do a Micron Quick Editor is I ever find the NPRN list. |

Anyone have a panel out there the Roland SH-32? If not, I may have a go at creating one. It'd be great to have dedicated sliders for the oscillators and waveforms instead of having to share controls like you do on the actual box. _________________ Computer: Mac Pro 2xQuad 2.8ghz, 6GB ram, 10.6.4, 19" LCD x3

OK...so I had a go at creating a device panel. People aren't kidding when they say the device panel editor sucks. Why did steinberg not add the ability to delete anything? Retarded. Still, the potential is awesome and in this case the sh-32 really opened itself up to me once I was able to see all the parameters on a single screen. I think the panel will only work on channel 1; I learned the hard way that you have to setup the available channels in advance. I think this will be fine for my usage, but if there are any other sh-32 users out there who need to use different channels I could try and have a go at it. I was also contemplating adding tabs so you could edit all 4 parts in a performance. I used CCs where possible for a couple of reasons:
1: the sh-32 playback gets messed up when receiving sysex
2: Although cubase seems to move the virtual device knobs when I move a corresponding physical knob, it doesnt do the same for sysex params. Whats up with that? If you have defined the sysex string properly cubase should know what to do with it when messages are sent. I hope this is fixed in an update.
Lastly, I spent an assload of time on the gui, I think it looks pretty good. Here is a screenshot: http://resynthesize.com/cubase/sh32.jpg
And here is the zip file: http://resynthesize.com/cubase/roland_sh32_device_panel.zip _________________ Computer: Mac Pro 2xQuad 2.8ghz, 6GB ram, 10.6.4, 19" LCD x3

Hi, I think the device editor is the design and programming piece of a 12 year old programming beginner.
It violates the simplest logic how to create an editor. You actually in some situations CANNOT edit (modify existing things)... *rofl*
Further there are some fundamental Domain ANALYSIS mistakes (like mutual exclusion of named and patch presets....).
Well... that being said. The potential of this is tremendous. And I am sure they know and improve.
Regards, Elien |

Hey,
I'm looking for a script for a Yamaha S08. I have one for my Cakewalk, but I am running out of resources to find one for Cubase, for the S08. Cubase came bundled with my keyboard and its not included with Yamaha's included media. I also called Yamaha tech support and they had to refer me to the second tear of support. I am awaiting thier return call. Yamaha also told me the S80 or S03, S09 probebly wouldnt work either.
Thanks, any help greatly apreciated,

Hi,
I have the original Korg Triton. There are two patchname scripts that come with Cubase SX3 (not including the one from drums only). The first one with banks A-E matches my Triton. But the next one that has banks divided by instrument type does not. Do you know of a script written like this that I can try? Thanks.

I have one for s Triton Rack listed by catagory and bank with 3 expansion boards in it. I imagine it's the same as the original Triton. It's already posted in this thread, so just grab that one and try it out. You may have to delete some of the sounds if you don't have the same expansion boards... _________________ My gear list. |

Hi all,
I've just completed a total rebuild nightmare of the Yamaha S90es script for Cubase. I've used as a scratch the motifES script, founded on the mitfator forum.
Now: how can I share this 51kb text file?
I don't have a space somewhere on the net to upload, so if someone have a way to makes it shareable... |

Is there an email address to send Patchname Scripts to, at Steinberg HQ?
I currently do not have the ability to host files anywhere, but I have created scripts for:
Alesis NanoBass
BOSS DR-202
BOSS DR-880
E-MU E-Synth
E-MU Procussion
E-MU Proformance
E-MU ROMs (Proteus compatible ROMs; CMPSR, XTREME, WORLD, ORCH1, ORCH2, PHATT, P2500, VROM, DRUM, TeCnO, BEAT)
Kurzweil PC2R + EXP1 (Orchestral Expansion ROM)
Novation SuperNova II
Thanks,

I'm trying to figure this out .. SeeWise's amazing panels work really well but there is no parameter movement. I had thought it was because Cubase just didnt have the ability but then I realised a Sixtrak mixermap did work like a VSTi in that all the knobs and slider move when being automated. Now I've just created a SixTrak device panel myself and it not only works while being automated but also the parameters move when you cycle through patches! Fantastic... but why?
Is this because Cubase understands CC's but can't do the same with sys-ex panels such as SeeWises Matrix1000?
Also somebody else asked the question; 'where can we get a proper tutorial on creating panels' and nobody answered, is there anywhere that can shed some light on the processes that are not properly documented in the Cubase literature? Or do I have to start making one myself ? ; )
I've put my Six-Trak device panel up for testing here:
http://www.flitemedia.com/studio/sci-sixtrak.php
Any help, comments, bug reports etc would be greatly appreciated... _________________ www.flitemedia.com |

I made some snapshots and they get saved to the presets folder.
Not in the panels folder and not with the exported device xml.(the device xml makes referance to snapshots but it did not contain any that I made, this referance to snapshots may be relavent later
as It may be the place to paste the snapshots from the presets folder.)
Each snapshot in the presets folder has it's own xml document that is 5kb in size.
It would be neat to be able to save the snapshots with the panel the same as patch banks but it looks to me like xml editing might be the only way (provided it is possible to do so)
I will continue to explore.
Can you get your snapshots from your presets folder and put em up?
Your synth has 100 patch memory how many snapshots are you doing?
Oh yeah while I am here can anyone tell me if the device editor has been improved for Cubase 4? |

Hi Midibear,
Yea those snapshot xml's seam pretty easy to understand but I've not managed to embed them in the panel xml yet; despite playing in the xml code itself. The panels I have looked at seam to have a diferent structure for saving patches and not the full paramater snapshots like I would like to use. The only way I can see to do it right now is to give somebody the patches as individual xml's and tell them to put them in the right place with the right folder name as it is on your own computer.
The only reference to the snapshots I can see in my panel xml is this:
(Whats goin on with this forum! Cant post images, Cant post code ?!) Please see:
http://www.flitemedia.com/images/xml-screenshot.jpg
Can somebody explain the hash code on the end?
Perhaps that can be removed as long as the snapshots folder is relabelled too.
Perhaps 'storage type 1' might be an answer?
Where is the documentation in this?!! Certainly not in Steinbergs manuals or PDF's that I have seen...
Also regarding "100 patch memory"; if I am right then these snapshots are totally independant of the synth's own patch banks, snapshots basically just save you the hassle of setting up the patch manually by reaching over and setting all the knobs for you! These snapshots are fantastic because they are based in the software; the synth now has no use for patch memory at all really! Plus you can swap patches with other owners etc.
For Cubase 4 i'm affraid it looks identical, Ive not noticed one single change to the device panel section?!
All I can tell you is that my imported images mess up in C4, they display wrong, but this could also be connected with the fact that you dont seam to be able to remove imported images without editing the xml; every image I tried is still contained in my xml.
I'll have another play later but there are many questions still needing answers.
I'm loving my panel tho, gives the Six-trak a whole new lease of life _________________ www.flitemedia.com |

This is one large list of panels and patch scripts, they want people to send them files so perhaps thats your answer:
