i realize it's a huge mistake to say anything...
my rig will prolly melt down when i power it up later but-
i'v been readin all these horror stories for a while about gettin LE to work
granted-
i'v been recording for a couple of decades
and
i'v fooled with computers since the cpu was called a 8086
[nothing about windoz suprises me]
but when my saffire showed up
i bought a 4>6 firewire cable
made the suggested XP tweeks to my $600 notebook
[ran my rig with most of them already]
poked around in cubase for about 15 minutes
and went to work recording
my hat's off to focusrite
as i said
i aint gloating
jus sorta feel sorry for the folks havin so much trouble... _________________ LE | very generic Pentium M 1.5ghz | 256M | saffire | heaps of old wire |

not gloating either... but i still can't believe le came free with an 0404 and runs like a dream.... i bought the 0404 for quality inputs and 'cos it had sonar le. i wanted to try sonar 'cos i hated cubasis and had to leave logic, but i haven't even looked at sonar seriously.
even better: the vsti's that came with cubasis (an odd assortment)- and some of the fx plugs- and the fx plugs from sonar- mostly seem to run in cubase.
i'm disappointed with the "universal sound module" (yamaha's gotta do something about that!) but... getting more and more impressed with the also "free" proteus le which if i can get the volume right- work out how to reset the headroom?- will be a serious toy.
wheeeeee!!!!! _________________ foxcom motherboard; athlon xp2400 cpu; 512 mb ram; 80 and 120 gig seagate drives; e-mu0404 soundcard; presonus "inspire"; cubase le x2! and cubasis vst 5. |
