I'm a new Cubase LE user. I bought an Alesis Multimix 8 USB and I'm trying to make it work with Cubase LE!
The Mixer is working well. I've setup my Windows XP Control Panel. Select Sounds and Audio
Devices, Audio tab, and select the “USB audio codec” as my default sound recording device.
When I try to record my guitar or synth....nothing.
What am I missing??

Cubase doesn’t use the Windows XP audio settings. Cubase has its own settings. Do you have a manual?

Hi, that's a very broad question, and it's unlikey that someone will spend the time to answer fully unless we beleive that you have fully read the getting started manual for yourself...it's a bore I know, but it's the only way that you will begin to realise how Cubase operates...seen!... Cool Very Happy also if you put your system specs in your signature it is very helpful for others to see... Wink

Toxteth,
Thanks for your reply.I read the PDF files that comes with Cubase LE. As you recommanded, I fill in my profile information about my computer!
My problem, I think, come from the fact that Cubase don't receive any signal from my Multimix via USB. In my setting, under Devices/VST inputs (ports), the only choice I have is SoundMax digital audio. I think that I should have the choice to have USB Audio Codec or something like that. I've setup my Windows XP Control Panel. Select Sounds and Audio Devices, Audio tab, and select the “USB audio codec” as my default sound recording device.
