I am thinking about purchasing groove agent 2 but I do not have a midi controller yet. Can you record the complete drum tracks that come with it as an audio track and not midi. I want to just record basic drum tracks. If I do need to get a midi controller what would be a good one to get at affordable price that works well with Cubase?? I am a beginner
Thanks for your help |

I am also just starting out and I went with m-audio's Axiom 61. it comes with 61 keys for notes but also has 8 user programmable touchpads which should work well. M-Audio also has a touchpad unit that looks very cool but I had trouble finding it on their website and had to google to find the page http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/TriggerFinger-main.html.
note to staff...this is not advertising...I'm just a starving musician! lol |

I have the groove agent 2 and you don't need midi controller other than your sound card to trigger it, you can also use the midi output of the groove agent to write your midi track, and then play the track back through the output of the groove agent. once the track is recorded in your midi track remove the all midi inputs from groove agent to not connected to avoid a double layered drum sound. It is very easy to use once you get it set up.
