Phil - as a user of MEAP since the early days, I have to say that your program is brilliant and has been helping me with my work continuously. I do most of my creative work in Cubase but often have to move my tracks to other programs for compatibility reasons.
Thanks so much! _________________ Doctor Lupo

Greetings all,
Just a quick note:
Recently I sent out an email to all current MEAP users and all MEAP forum subscribers to alert them of the new update and a few other things I considered users may find important.
I don't do this very often. Maybe once every one or two months for confirmed users and only ever once or twice in the last year for forum subscribers.
Anyway. I noticed that a lot of the mails bounced back for various reasons. Not a problem for me. Except that many of the bounced mails were from actual MEAP customers. This means there are a number of MEAP users out there who may have no idea that MEAP has been significantly improved and updated since its birth.
I thought it would be an idea to post this up here, as it is really the only other way I have of getting in touch with MEAP users.
If you are a MEAP user and have changed your email address it may be an idea to log into the MEAP site and update your account with a current working email address.
Cheers,
PS. Thanks for the kind words above once again.
nb. I should add that I always make it very clear in these updates that users can very easily unsubscribe and never receive any more info from the MEAP site. _________________ Phil Pendlebury - www.meap.biz - www.pendlebury.biz - www.digital96.com - www.riffsandrays.com

6.61.985 UPDATE:
Added some waits in the dialog loop cycles which will give some CPU back during dialog views. This will fix some rare cases where MEAP is using too much CPU.
Explanation:
This was brought to my attention earlier today and luckily I had time to look into it immediately.
When MEAP is showing the dialog boxes that enable you to choose options, it is constantly cycling through a loop that checks your entries.
This loop has grown quite huge since MEAP was originally coded and lately it is noticeable on some systems that CPU usage is high.
This is fixed by quite simply adding some small waits into the loops in order to give the CPU time to breath.
The downside of this has been that adding waits would cause the dialog to become sluggish. I have got around this by adjusting the wait time depending on load.
The end result is that the CPU usage should be down by up to 75% (even on systems where the problem was not noticed.) _________________ Phil Pendlebury - www.meap.biz - www.pendlebury.biz - www.digital96.com - www.riffsandrays.com

6.62.105 UPDATE:
Added major new system for error reporting:
| MEAP Manual wrote: | If you click SEND MEAP will zip up your screen shot and your ini file and send it to MEAP Support via email. You do not need to take any action other than clicking SEND as MEAP uses its own email server. MEAP will display some messages keeping you informed of what is going on. Please be a little patient while MEAP is sending this information. It may take a few minutes depending on your internet upload speed. You may also examine the zip file in the (default) folder ... C:\Program Files\Phil Pendlebury\MEAP\zip
MEAP sends no information other than the screen shot and ini file (MEAP settings). |
Added some additional help to manual

6.62.185 UPDATE:
Revised and improved method of error reporting.
| Quote: | MEAP 6.62+ features a new procedure for aiding technical support queries.
It's very simple:
Whenever MEAP finishes running, (including when your export has been successful) there will be a zip file created that contains some relevant information.
If you have a problem with MEAP simply upload this zip file (meapinfo.zip) as an attachment, along with a post to the Technical Support area of the MEAP forum.
It's as simple as that.

Fixed problem with Nuendo 3 not recognising Frozen Tracks
Fixed rare problem with Cubase 5 closing Transport Bar on export
Added extra screen shot at end of export which is also added to the meapinfo.zip file

Hi Phil,
I would like to buy your MEAP but there is no my country (Belarus) in PayPal form. I have viza card and also I can send the money via bank wire (or something like this) from my account. Then I will need your bank info including SWIFT code. What should I do?
Regards
Leanid Kruk
P.S. Same letter I have send to your e-mail from meap.biz/forum but it seems your site is down very often so I decided to ask you here also. _________________ Asus P5K PRO, Q6600, 4Gb RAM, HDD 4x250Gb, XP pro SP2, RME FF400, C 4.5.2, Wavelab 6, Virtual Guitarist 2, Virtual Bassist, Groove Agent 2, Chris Hein Bass, Brass Arturia, SampleTank 2.5 XL, Vienna SE, Vienna SE+, 2 UAD-1, PowerCore VSS3, SSL Duende Studio Pack, Lavry Blue 4496-12, GENELEC 8050, IK ARC, JBL Control 1 |

6.63.331 UPDATE:
Added option to automatically Skip Open Folders
MEAP now takes separate smaller screen shots for each track (all old screen shots are deleted at start of new export)
Zip file has date and time included in file name (zip file is deleted at start of new export)
Many more optimisations regarding screen captures and track - file naming
Fixed problem with some folders not being recognised _________________ Phil Pendlebury - www.meap.biz - www.pendlebury.biz - www.digital96.com - www.riffsandrays.com

Added The MEAP Shots Utility
You may be aware that for some functions, MEAP uses small images to find certain things on your screen.
Up until now this has meant that your audio application display settings must be set at the default brightness and contrast etc.
For people who do not like or do not want to use the default settings for exports it has always been possible to manually edit your own buttons.
This utility makes that task much easier. With the added benefit of being able to send the results to Phil P who will send you back your required edited buttons. _________________ Phil Pendlebury - www.meap.biz - www.pendlebury.biz - www.digital96.com - www.riffsandrays.com

6.63.599 UPDATE:
Fixed problem where Start to Last Part would not work if first track was shorter than other tracks.
Note: New default key commands required (Ctrl+NumPad 1, Ctrl+NumPad 2). These are already included in the MEAPKeys commands as they are part of the original defaults
Recompiled with latest compiler (11.1.12)
Recompiled with latest installer (7.13)
Other small improvements gained from new recompilation _________________ Phil Pendlebury - www.meap.biz - www.pendlebury.biz - www.digital96.com - www.riffsandrays.com

Hello Phil
Will it work if I have the following scenario? Cubase 4.5
1) Hypersonic 16 track multitimbral VSTi outputs goes to a Group that routes the output via an Insert (External
effect) output to an external compressor.
2) The return from the external compressor goes back to another Group through an insert (External effect) input.
The return Group must be manually switched on everytime I do a solo on the Hypersonic VSTi channel in the mixer.
3) And then out to the Main bus. _________________ Cheers

Best bet to is to have a look at the MEAP web site and see how MEAP works. But basically if you can set up a way to solo your parts then MEAP can do it. _________________ Phil Pendlebury - www.meap.biz - www.pendlebury.biz - www.digital96.com - www.riffsandrays.com
