Maybe I missed it somewhere, but I couldn't find anything on steinberg.net's Hypersonic 2 section where it even mention's it can be used as a stanalone instrument....
All I found was a mention about using it as a rewire slave to a rewire host....
A search here brought up 17 threads containing the word "standalone".
It would seem H2 can be used in standalone mode...but there seems to be some need for a third party midi yoke or something??
Is this correct? Do I have to get some extra utility to use it as an instrument outside of SX?
Or, does it work like HALion 3 in standalone, with a simple menu to config the midi and audio i/o?
I hope so.
Thanks.
QuBe.
P.S. (Steiny, I finally have some dough burning a hole in my pocket and will either go for Hypersonic to or WL6...it would be helpful if you put the info about Hyper2 working in standalone mode on your site. Seems a rather worthwhile feature to list.)
Thx. |

Hi,
No, just start it with the installed standalone application, select your audio device and MIDI I/O there and you can play without any host software involved. _________________ Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH |

Got Hypersonic2 yesterday.
Sweet.
Standalone works dandy.
There is one apparent bug that seems to have carried over from v. 1....at least it was in the demo version....
When you have a combi loaded and then load another regular patch, sometimes programs remain in the chanels from the last combi...they won't clear unless done manually or with a restart.
Not too big a deal.
A nice sounding VSTi for sure.
Another thing I might suggest, is leaning up on the product packaging...quite a bit of cardboard boxing, just for just a manual, a H2 DVD, two demo DVDs and some documents.

well, it surely has turned into a lean thing these days, no package and no content
